ADVICE & CARE
Preventative health care for your pet
At Our Vet™ we believe prevention is much better than cure. With a little care and planning, you can prevent many illnesses that would otherwise cause your pet pain and discomfort.
Many diseases come from a bad diet. Pets need different foods at different stages of their life, so make sure you educate yourself about what your pet needs.
Depending on the pet, you may need to get it vaccinated against a range of diseases, especially when it's young and its immune system is still developing. Ask Our Vet to find out what vaccinations are recommended for your pet.
Pets are vulnerable to being attacked by parasites. These can be internal, like worms or bacteria, or external, like fleas and ticks. There are many different treatment options to protect your pet and your family from parasites, preventing associated health complications.
Spaying and Neutering
Spays and neuters are usually performed when the pet is 4 months old for dogs and cats, before they reach sexual maturity. Desexing your pet provides a wide range of health benefits, and most vets thoroughly recommend it.
Make appointments for health check-ups twice a year for your pet. Our Vet will help you make sure there are no underlying problems that could develop into something more serious. Keeping your pet up-to-date on all aspects of healthcare gives it the best chance for a long, happy life.
